About FIACH

Described in Hot Press as a "Supreme performer", Dublin singer-songwriter Fiach releases his debut album So I on 19 March 2010 on his own label Marcellla Records. It will be preceded by the single "Every Single Day".

The album was recorded in Studio 2, Kinsealy and was produced by Keith Lawless and Fiach himself.

Fiach has, until now, been one the Irish music scene's best kept secrets but is now ready to be launched into the hearts of music lovers the length and breadth of the country. Fiach Moriarty is a 27 year old Dubliner, well respected and loved for his beautiful songwriting, exceptional voice and fantastic guitar playing and is fondly known as the 'Hardest Working Artist in Ireland', but it was his talent that found him sharing the stage with the cream of Irish and international artists such as Ray Davies, Eddi Reader, Mary Black, Damien Dempsey, Kila, Freddie White, Sinéad O'Connor, Damien Rice and Paddy Casey. His concerts are where this young artist shines, always unpredictable, and always a very special event. Up to now, Fiach has been steady on the gig circuit, playing festivals in France, Holland, New York and Scotland as well as gracing every top venue in Ireland.

In June of last year Fiach performed and represented Ireland at the annual Celtic Languages Contest 'Nós Úr' in Inverness singing an Irish version of his song 'So I' and came 1st in the jury vote. This brought him to the Netherlands in October to represent the Celtic Nations in the European Minority Languages Contest 'Liet International' where he came in a respectable 4th out of 12 acts.

Fiach has also appeared on the well-known Irish compilation cd's CEOL '07, '08 and '09 keeping in good company with artists such as Eddi Reader, Swell Season and Declan O'Rourke. Keep a close eye on what the Dublin music scene has been quietly hiding and will soon be able to hide no more.

"Flawlessly melodic yet imbued with an understated menace; Fiach’s slow-burning ballads probe the dark spaces at the edges of the singer-songwriter formula. He turns clichés on their head, investing familiar themes with a sense of creeping unease"-Metro
